Serving
For the sweetpotato and smoked paprika simple syrup
- 240g sweetpotatoes, roasted and mashed
- 240g brown sugar
- 360ml water
- 15g smoked paprika
For the cocktail
- 45ml whiskey (we recommend Bulleit Rye)
- 30ml sweetpotato and smoked paprika simple syrup
- 15ml lemon juice
- 7 drops orange bitters
- 1 mint leaf

Directions
Step 1
To make the sweetpotato and smoked paprika simple syrup
Step 2
Add all ingredients to a saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring frequently.
Step 3
Strain through a fine mesh strainer and let cool.
Step 4
Keep in refrigerator for up to three weeks.
Step 5
To make the cocktail
Step 6
Place all ingredients in a shaker and add ice.
Step 7
Shake vigorously for 10 seconds and strain into an ice-filled rock glass.
Step 8
Garnish with mint leaf.
